I'm having a day off.....

Today is Labor Day and I'm having a day off. The house is so quiet, except for the music I've got playing in the background!

Seeing how the baby will be here in just a couple of months (or less!),my days of having a little bit of 'freedom' and 'me time' are going to come to an end before too much longer. Jason has realized the need for me to have a day off now and then....so today he and the girls are up hiking in beautiful Zion's National Park! I am so grateful that he is willing to do this for me, so that I have even a few hours of alone time to just be "me" and get a few projects done without interruption. Its also a good opportunity for him to have some one on one time with the girls, something that doesn't happen all that often between his work schedule and all our family activities.

So far in the 2.5 hours since they've been gone, I've managed to catch-up our blog journal/photo album. Basically, I print out all the posts and pictures from this blog and put them into a photo album. I'm not a creative scrap-booking gal (wish I was!) so this is my way of keeping a journal and documenting the happenings in our family. Its pretty plain and simple, but at least its something! I also keep separate photo albums with all the other hundreds of pictures that we take throughout the year. I hope to get some of those albums caught up today too.

Later today I hope to go see a movie and grab some dinner out in town. Its soooo nice to have even a few hours to do what I want to do since all the rest of my life and year is dedicated to home, family, home schooling, church callings, etc. Oh, and yes, by the way....after much thought, prayer and consideration, we opted to un-enroll Emily and Sarah from the Vista Charter School. The more that time went on, the more meetings I attended, I just didn't feel good about it overall. So, we are back to homeschooling and the kids are happy with that decision. Actually, Emily didn't really want to go to school at all so she's just as glad to be at home for her education still. It will be a challenge to juggle it with a new baby, but I think the girls are all at good ages to work some what independently and I don't need to hover over them. Plus, I know there will be days that "the baby IS the lesson!"
